Introduction to Digital Photography (VA-211)

This workshop series is designed to help you get the most out of your DSLR camera.  Whether you are a photo hobbyist, or learning your way around a new camera, this interactive, hands on series will help you capture higher quality images. Topics include camera functions, equipment and accessory overview, composition, lighting, basic edits, and photo processing and printing. Classes can be taken independently, or as a complete series. Final session will culminate with production of a coffee table book containing student images taken over the course of the program! (Optional additional fee required to purchase book). Students should bring their own camera to each workshop.

 

  • Workshop topic 1: Understanding your digital camera
  • Workshop topic 2: Tips and tricks – ABC’s of photography
  • Workshop topic 3: Outdoor lighting and composition
  • Workshop topic 4: Indoor lighting and composition
  • Workshop topic 5: Basic edits and image correction
  • Workshop topic 6: Photo processing and printing / Building the book! (Must attend Workshop 2 or 3 to participate)

Prerequisite: Student should have basic digital or DSLR camera.
